Pants and outerwear made of light, warm material, no more than 2 sets of day clothes, swimwear, underwear. Waterproof rain cover that leaves enough space for paddling. Kayakers should pay special attention to lightweight, waterproof functional clothing.

When paddling, water shoes have often proven useful for protection from sharp rocks and stones. Good bathing shoes are not bad either.

For kayakers, neoprene shoes or booties are best.

Sturdy light shoes or sneakers are good for camp life and land transportation. In spring and late autumn, you should take light and high rubber boots.

The choice of the stove should be based on the availability of fuel. The lightest is a spirit stove from Trangia. Gasoline stoves are very powerful, but not so easy to handle. Gas stoves are also very powerful, but you need the right cartridges. We only carry the classic gas cartridge with 7/16″ thread. Caution, always tighten the thread only hand-tight, otherwise the stove may malfunction. At outside temperatures below 5° you should use special winter gas (down to – 20°). You can book gas – petrol or spirit stoves with us.

Should be as small as possible and suitable for outdoor use. Of course, a stove set with burner and cooking pots (Trangia) is practical. You can book complete cooking sets at the Kanucenter!

Most lakes in Värmland have “drinking water quality”. Nevertheless, we recommend a water supply of min. 5 – 10 liters to take with you. If in doubt, please boil the water!

You can rent fishing equipment at the canoe center. You can also get fishing permits from us, for most tours we offer very reasonable all-inclusive prices. For waters outside our routes you can buy a fiskekort (fishing permit) on the website www.ifiske.se .

As needed: ID card, driver’s license, car insurance documents, foreign health insurance, ferry tickets, health insurance card, travel documents….

Credit card (Master, Visa) absolutely necessary! EC card (often not helpful), cash (Euro in SEK) please change in time (border, airport, central station at forex), normal banks in Sweden do not exchange Euros (cash) for Swedish Krona. Cash (SEK) can also be withdrawn from an ATM with a credit card (Visa/Mastercard), but usually only about 2000 SEK per day.

Please bring enough rechargeable battery/batteries. Install suitable map material (southern Sweden/Swealand). You can get the corresponding gpx.files for the canoe tours from us.

Please bring enough batteries and charger, all packed waterproof of course.

Emergency number in Sweden is 112. It is very helpful if the cell phone is ready for use during the entire tour. A sensible combination of spare battery, powerbank, solar charger, car charger and normal charger should definitely be included. Please get a weather protection cover.

Each tour team must have at least one working cell phone with them during the tour (with waterproof case).
