Catering – Shopping

When it comes to food, it all depends on your own preferences. Please shop in a way that minimizes packaging waste. So, if possible, no canned ready meals. On many canoe tours there is an opportunity to buy provisions along the way. Before the tour, we recommend the small but excellent supermarket in Svanskog, where you will find a large selection of fresh fruit and vegetables.

Menu plan

It is advisable to put together a rough menu for the canoe trip at home, because some things are not easy to get in Sweden, e.g. powdered milk.

With a bit of luck, you can supplement your menu with freshly caught fish, wild berries and mushrooms. But be careful, consume only if you are 100% sure that they are edible. With a dough made from flour, baking powder and salt, you can quickly bake a very tasty bannock bread.

And here’s another tip: In every Swedish supermarket you can find cheese in tubes with different flavors: Cheese and ham or salami.

Verpflegung-Blaubeeren

Drinking water

The water in the lake areas is usually very clean and therefore suitable for drinking. However, it is recommended not to take the water in the riparian area or in marshy marginal areas. But if you want to be on the safe side, you should boil the water. If you want to do it quickly, you can use an outdoor drinking water filter or treat the water with tablets, for example with Micropur.

The following compilation are only examples and should serve as inspiration:
