The Östen canoe tour leads from east to west through the whole of northern Danoland. The tour can be extended for up to 14 days at your discretion. You reach the Swedish-Norwegian border area via the lakes Foxen and StoraLe. Or you can paddle in a large loop to the south before heading for Östervallskog in the north. Good fishing opportunities, fishing permits can be purchased at the canoe center or booked online. Very flexible paddling route, we recommend 7 to 10 days tour duration.

Stay overnight

During the tour you can spend the night in the wild nature, please follow the Dano regulations. The use of the paid “Dano” rest areas is optional. Groups of more than 5 people must stay overnight at “Dano” rest areas, a nature conservation card (Naturvårdskort) is required. Please do not make any wild fires.

Locks and Naturvårdskort

The locks are open from the beginning of June to mid-August. Outside of opening hours, you can transfer (bypass). The optional Naturvårdskort can be booked at the Canoe Center or directly on site (QR code).
